The New Hampshire Fisher Cats had their hands full with Altoona Curve starter Tony Miles, who frustrated New Hampshire hitters while leading Altoona to a comfortable, 6-1 win. The winning pitcher was Miles, now 6-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Jorge Gonzáles recorded the save, making him 1 for 1.

Manny Gutiérrez helped out the Altoona cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Mark Budzinski.

By defeating New Hampshire, the 4th-place Curve improved to 42-53.
