Jud Clayton pitched well, but his team, the Altoona Curve, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park. The winning pitcher was Sean Bevins. He tossed 101 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. The first-place SeaWolves, at 61-31, lead the Southern Division by 6½ games.

Jesús Ríos helped out the Erie cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman went 1-2.

"That's what makes it fun -- everybody's jacked up because of the way we've been winning," said Erie manager Brad Ausmus.
