New Britain picked up a win at Canal Park, bumping off the Akron RubberDucks, 4-3. Pitcher Milo Sykes was a major reason the Rock Cats emerged victorious. Sykes, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. Dave Francisco got the save, his 7th in 10 chances.

Sancho Vásquez had a direct impact on the outcome. Vásquez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New Britain up, 4-1.

"Milo has got a slow heartbeat," said New Britain manager Gary Kendall. "He doesn't panic or anything."

With the win, the Rock Cats sit at 57-34.
