New Britain and Altoona duked it out and the Rock Cats came out victorious.

New Britain registered a win at New Britain Stadium by beating the Altoona Curve, 4-1. Pitcher Bob Walters was one reason why the Rock Cats triumphed. In 6.2 innings, Walters surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run.

António Cháves took Altoona hurler José Rosário deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Rock Cats on top, 2-1. In all, Cháves had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

New Britain manager Gary Kendall called it "a good, solid win."
