The New Hampshire Fisher Cats faced a tough opponent in Akron pitcher Renaldo León, but found a way to pull out the victory at Canal Park by a final score of 4-2 in 12 innings. León went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Greg Thomas in relief. His record improves to 2-3. José López took the loss for Akron.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dave Roberts? The 26-year old catcher Roberts stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put New Hampshire up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.
