Portland and Trenton duked it out and the Sea Dogs came out victorious.

The Portland Sea Dogs bested the Trenton Thunder, 7-4, at Arm & Hammer Park. Juan Rivera was one of the standouts. He went 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. António González, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-6. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2.

Early in the game, Rivera had a 2-run double for Portland. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Sea Dogs on top, 2-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Rivera said.

The Sea Dogs saw their record improve to 39-42.
