The Portland Sea Dogs downed the Trenton Thunder, 9-6, at Arm & Hammer Park. Phil MacRorie led the way, going 2-for-2 for Portland. The win was credited to Wilson Hernández in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jorge López took the loss. The save went to Dave Lavington, his 17th this season.

With Portland leading 5-1 in the top of the seventh, MacRorie came up to bat against Trenton pitcher Robinson Salas. MacRorie hit a forkball to right for a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Sea Dogs on top, 9-1.

"We got the victory," said MacRorie. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Portland is now 38-41, Trenton 45-35.
