The Trenton Thunder racked up a win at Arm & Hammer Park, bumping off the New Britain Rock Cats, 6-2. Jesús Barajas, who started for Trenton, pitched effectively for his team. Trenton raised its record to 45-33 with the win.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Steve Baker came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New Britain pitcher Brad Fountain, he hit a 3-1 forkball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Trenton on top, 3-2.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Barajas.
