Sea Dogs Get 8-4 Win Versus Binghamton
The Portland Sea Dogs beat the Binghamton Mets by a score of 8-4. Portland center fielder Raúl Diharce deserved the lion's share of the credit. Diharce was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Sea Dogs. Portland is 36-40 and Binghamton, with the loss, 35-42.

Phil Hopkins had a big 2-run double for the Sea Dogs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Rudy Alexander, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in complete games with 4, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Dogs ahead, 4-1.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Portland manager Stu Cole.
