Cushingham Now 4-2 Following 3-1 Win
Starting pitcher Jake Cushingham was a major factor in the 3-1 Akron RubberDucks triumph over the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Ken Jordan recorded the save, his 7th. By defeating Richmond, the last-place RubberDucks improved to 28-43.

The win was credited to Cushingham. He raised his season record to 4-2. In 8 innings of work, Cushingham gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 7. The Flying Squirrels never could get a clutch hit when they needed it.

"Jake gave us a really strong effort," said Akron manager Keith Johnson.
