The Akron RubberDucks topped the New Britain Rock Cats, 4-1, with designated hitter Bob Quintana playing a big role. Quintana was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the RubberDucks in the win. Ken Jordan collected save number 6. The RubberDucks go to 27-39 with the win.

Akron used a clutch at-bat from Ignacio Gonzáles to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
