Sea Dogs Suffer 8-5 Loss to Bowie
|
Bowie designated hitter Nelson Ortíz helped his team beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-5. Ortíz went 2 for 2 for the Baysox. Jesús García, the winning pitcher, is now 4-4. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 2. So far in 2025, Bowie is 30-35.
Juan Durán had a big 3-run home run for the Baysox in the bottom of the second inning. With Bowie trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Sukejuro Takeuchi and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baysox ahead, 3-2.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Ortíz told the Bowie Citizen.
