SeaWolves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Flying Squirrels, 7-2
The Erie SeaWolves topped the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 7-2, at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Erie center fielder Jimmy Hoffman was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Southern Division-leading SeaWolves are 39-24.

Erie used the timely hitting of J.J. Cortini to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt good about my swing," said Hoffman.
