Thunder Continue Skid, Thanks to Anderson, Mets
|
Binghamton played host to Trenton at NYSEG Stadium.
Mets designated hitter Dave Anderson put his stamp on his team's 6-2 win over the Trenton Thunder. Anderson was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Binghamton in the contest. Aurelio Jiménez earned the save for Binghamton, his 10th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Danny Jones delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Binghamton catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Mets in front, 6-2.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Jones told the Binghamton Times.
The last-place Mets have won 4 in a row.
