Jones Helps Omaha Outscore New Orleans
The Omaha-New Orleans matchup turned into a real hit parade.

The Omaha Storm Chasers defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs, 15-10, at Zephyr Field. Leading the charge for Omaha was second baseman Cliff Jones. He went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Dan Williams notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-0.

With Omaha leading 11-10 in the top of the ninth, Jones hit a cutter from J.R. Bradley for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Storm Chasers ahead, 15-10.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Jones told the Omaha Bulletin.

The Storm Chasers, at 61-81, inhabit third place in the American Conference North Division.
