The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 14-6. Right Fielder Luis Lozano deserved a large share of the credit. Lozano was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the River Cats. Raffi Vizcaino got the win, improving to 7-13. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. The third-place River Cats have won 4 in a row.

The River Cats got a big hit from center fielder Bob Tucker. Facing Colorado Springs pitcher Don Whaley in the bottom of the seventh, Tucker pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 13th double of the season put the River Cats ahead, 14-5.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said River Cats manager Carlos Corporan.
