With designated hitter Josh Burkett leading the charge, the Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 7-5, at Chukchansi Park. Burkett, who is tied for 5th in the PC in extra base hits with 41, was 4-5 with 3 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever Juan Bernard picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Aurelio Jiménez, who is tied for 10th in the AC in saves with 8, took the loss. Andres Sanchez recorded the save, making him 10 for 12.

One big at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dermis Garcia, who is tied for 7th in the PC in triples with 6, reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run off Omaha pitcher Aurelio Jiménez. The Grizzlies went on to win the game.

"I like our moxie," said Grizzlies manager Kevin Cash.

The Pacific Conference South Division-leading Grizzlies have a record of 62-48.
