Oklahoma City got a terrific game from shortstop Glen Porter. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to El Paso, 8-6. Porter was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jeurys Familia earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The first-place Chihuahuas, at 60-45, now lead their division by 2 games.

Sam Thomas helped out the El Paso cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"I still think this team can play even better," Thomas told the El Paso News.
