Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Fresno Grizzlies and Salt Lake Bees.

The bat of Jeff Lowery helped the Fresno Grizzlies top the Salt Lake Bees, 5-3. Lowery went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Fresno. Phil Perkins, the winning pitcher, is now 6-4. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 5. Getting the save was Thom Stevens, his 2nd.

With Fresno trailing 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Lowery hit a changeup from Mike Fry for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Grizzlies ahead, 4-3.

"We were the better team," crowed Lowery.

With the victory, the Grizzlies upped their record to 55-43.
