The Salt Lake Bees picked up a win at Smith's Ballpark, knocking off the Sacramento River Cats, 7-3. Starting pitcher Mauro Salazar played a key role in the triumph. The win boosted Salt Lake to 53-38.

Ken Hilton had a big run-scoring double for the Bees in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Salt Lake leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Ernesto Varela, the 15th overall pick in the 2021 draft, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bees ahead, 3-1.

"Solid performance from our side," said Bees manager Tom Prince.
