Geoff Johnson pitched well, but his team, the Fresno Grizzlies, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Reno Aces at Chukchansi Park. The win makes Reno 37-51.

Reno used a timely hit from Sean Vaughan to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aces ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

In postgame remarks, Vaughan hailed his team's "grit."
