The Salt Lake Bees had to overcome a good performance from Tacoma pitcher Michael Wacha to claim a 3-2 win at Smith's Ballpark. Wacha went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up the win was Leon Moss. He went 9 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 5. Tacoma has now lost 4 in a row.

The Bees were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 25-year old left fielder Ronnie Matthews landed a big blow. He turned a full count fastball from António Cruz into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Smith's Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Bees home with a thrilling 3-2 win.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Matthews.
