The home crowd had a good time watching the Memphis Redbirds and Albuquerque Isotopes get after it.

The Albuquerque Isotopes locked up a win at Isotopes Park, knocking off the Memphis Redbirds, 8-2. On the mound for Albuquerque was right-hander Don Younger. He played a major role in the triumph. In 8.1 innings, Younger surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs.

Dave Ford had a big 2-run home run for the Isotopes in the bottom of the first inning. With Albuquerque leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Casey Shane, who is tied for 10th in the AC in strikeouts with 84, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Isotopes on top, 4-1.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Younger. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

Albuquerque now sits at 44-39, while Memphis falls to 39-46.
