2-1 Win Makes It 6 Straight for Grizzlies
|
Fresno pitcher Jim Richmond did his part in helping his team defeat the El Paso Chihuahuas, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Richmond, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Andres Sanchez was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Josh Burkett delivered a big hit for Fresno. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We put together a nice win," Richmond said.
Fresno improves to 48-32 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.
