Grizzlies Rack Up 9-6 Win Versus Salt Lake
The Fresno Grizzlies topped the Salt Lake Bees, 9-6, with right fielder Eric Martin playing a big role. Martin went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Grizzlies in the win. Fresno pitcher Don Whaley got the win. He's now 2-0. Juan Mercado was tagged with the loss. The Grizzlies are now 43-35, while the Bees fall to 34-44.

With Fresno leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Martin hit a 2-run single off Salt Lake hurler Juan Mercado. It was the 37th hit of the season for Martin and put his team ahead, 5-0.

"We maximized our offense today," said Fresno skipper Alex Gordon. "That makes everyone's life easier."
