Getting a good performance from designated hitter Don Dickerson, the Salt Lake Bees defeated the Reno Aces, 7-6. Dickerson was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Bees. Salt Lake reliever Juan Garza was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Juan Díaz took the loss. The win for the Bees lifted their record to 42-29.

Dickerson had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 changeup from Juan Díaz, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Bees a 7-6 lead. It was the 13th double of the year for Dickerson.

Dickerson told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
