Bees Get Close Win Over Aces, 3-2
|
The Salt Lake Bees faced a tough opponent in Reno pitcher Joe Bernard, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Smith's Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Bernard went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Dave Jones finished the game for Salt Lake and earned his 5th save. Today's win puts Salt Lake at 41-28, while Reno falls to 27-42.
Salt Lake went up, 3-2, on Jesús Milanes's 26th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Milanes hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Reno pitcher Toby White stewing.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Ruben Niebla.
