The El Paso Chihuahuas knocked off the Fresno Grizzlies, 4-3, in Pacific Conference action at Chukchansi Park. El Paso pitcher and Schenectady, New York, native Joe Lynch had an outstanding performance. In 8 innings, Lynch surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Justin De Fratus earned the save, his 4th, for the Chihuahuas.

El Paso used a well-timed hit by Steve Bean to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chihuahuas ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It never gets old," said Bean. "Winning, that is."

The first-place Chihuahuas go to 40-27.
