The Tacoma Rainiers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Joe Lukies into a win. Instead, the Sacramento River Cats prevailed, 8-7. Lukies came in in relief and pitched to 24 batters. The River Cats got a clutch hit from shortstop Jesús Olivas. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the River Cats.
