The Colorado Springs Sky Sox knocked off the El Paso Chihuahuas, 4-2, in Pacific Conference action at Security Service Field. Colorado Springs pitcher and Manassas, Virginia, native Chris Metcalf had an outstanding performance. Metcalf yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-8. The loss makes El Paso 36-23.

The Sky Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Luis Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez was 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Colorado Springs a 3-2 lead.

"Chris made some good pitches in some situations he needed to make them in," said Colorado Springs manager Brian Falkenborg.
