Behind the hitting of Stu Beard, the El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 5-3. Beard was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Chihuahuas. El Paso is now 34-22, 10 games up in the Pacific Conference North Division.

Beard had a game-changing home run in the top of the 15th. On a full count splitter from Stu Adams, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Chihuahuas a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Beard.
