The Nashville Sounds racked up a win at Zephyr Field, bumping off the New Orleans Zephyrs, 8-5. Drew Smyly, who started for Nashville, pitched effectively for his team. The defeat makes New Orleans 25-29.

Nashville used a timely hit from Michael Conforto to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sounds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Drew gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Nashville manager Steve Scarsone.
