7-3 Loss Extends Sacramento Losing Streak
|
Good production from third baseman Kip Fletcher helped the Albuquerque Isotopes topple the Sacramento River Cats, 7-3. Fletcher went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Isotopes. Bob Bennett got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the River Cats to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Brad Mason.
Oliver Acevedo drove in one run for Albuquerque. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Octávio Venegas. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo.
Albuquerque has now won 3 straight, while the River Cats have lost 6 in a row.
