Acevedo 4-for-4, Leads Isotopes to Win
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes stymied the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 7-2, at Security Service Field. Oliver Acevedo had a good day at the plate. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for Albuquerque. Loren Workman got the win, improving to 5-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Zander Hughes picked up the save, his 2nd.
With one out in the top of the eighth, Sancho Acosta had a game-changing hit. The Isotopes catcher slammed a 2-run single off Dave Rodríguez, making the score 6-2, Albuquerque.
"Feels good to get the job done," Acosta said after the game.
The second-place Isotopes are 21-21.
