Chihuahuas Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of El Paso fans at .
Albuquerque got a valiant performance from pitcher Geoffrey Lindsey, but it wasn't enough to beat the El Paso Chihuahuas. El Paso won the game, 3-2. Lindsey threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. El Paso pitcher Steven O. Fuentes earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Dave Francisco suffered the loss.
Tony López was the walk-off hero for El Paso. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chihuahuas third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," López said.
El Paso has now won 3 straight, while the Isotopes have lost 4 in a row.
