Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the New Orleans Zephyrs and the Sacramento River Cats. New Orleans won it, 3-0. New Orleans starter Raquel Quental was in command. Raymond Rodriguez earned save number 17. The Zephyrs, at 22-16, lead by one game in their division.

Terence Thompson had a big 2-run double for the Zephyrs in the bottom of the third inning. With New Orleans leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a forkball from Octávio Venegas and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Zephyrs ahead, 3-0.

"We have a lot of confidence in Raquel," said New Orleans manager Jody Reed.
