The Omaha Storm Chasers weathered an outstanding game by Sacramento first baseman Edgardo Quiñones to topple the River Cats, 14-7. Quiñones was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Picking up the save was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Luis Chavarría. With the win, the Storm Chasers sit at 19-14.

In the top of the second, Omaha designated hitter Juan Ríos had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Ríos stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-0, Omaha. For the game, he was 3 for 6 with a double and 2 singles.
