Sky Sox Tuck Away 5-1 Win Over Reno
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Sky Sox fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Sky Sox designated hitter Joe Gibson left his mark on his team's 5-1 win over the Reno Aces. Gibson, who is tied for 7th in the PC with a .338 batting average, was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Colorado Springs in the contest. The save was Ken Greenwood's, his 1st.
Robbie Beasley was 1 for 3 for Colorado Springs. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Ramon A. Martinez. It was his 15th hit of the season.
Gibson called the win "a pick-me-upper."
The Sky Sox have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 18 games.
