Sky Sox Suffer One-Run Loss at Las Vegas
The Las Vegas 51s besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Colorado Springs second baseman Jeremy McGee by beating the Sky Sox, 5-4, at Cashman Field. McGee went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. The win belonged to Stan Wilson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ernie Cole took the loss for Colorado Springs. Mitch Smith earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

Had Bo Hale not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Hale hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the 51s.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Hale.

Colorado Springs drops to 4-4.
