El Paso and Reno duked it out and the Chihuahuas came out victorious.

El Paso Chihuahuas starter Phil Childress pitched a strong game against the Reno Aces at Aces Ballpark, leading the Chihuahuas to victory, 7-4. The winning pitcher was Childress, now 2-0. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 3.

It could have been a different outcome for El Paso, had it not been for Stu Beard, the 24-year old second baseman . Beard contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put El Paso up, 3-0.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Childress.

El Paso, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
