Sacramento first baseman Bob Tucker helped his team beat the Salt Lake Bees, 4-2. Tucker went 3 for 4 for the River Cats. Sacramento reliever Pat Bryant snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony Sargent shouldered the loss. Sacramento, now 5-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

Marco Gonzales had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Sacramento. With the bases loaded and the River Cats leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

Sacramento manager Carmelo Martinez commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
