Isotopes Earn 6-1 Win Versus Round Rock
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Albuquerque Isotopes and Round Rock Express were able to complete their ballgame.
Albuquerque starter Don Younger put the Round Rock offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his splitter in leading the Isotopes to a 6-1 win. The win puts Albuquerque at 4-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Albuquerque, had it not been for Dave Hogan, the 26-year old third baseman . Hogan contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Albuquerque up, 2-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo.
