The Memphis Redbirds topped the Omaha Storm Chasers, 6-3, at AutoZone Park. Memphis catcher Jeremy Weaver was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Alfredo Rocha, the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts over 7.1 innings. Stu Cook finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Arturo Morales hit a 2-run double off Juan Montés in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Redbirds in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Morales had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Weaver.

With the loss, Omaha falls to 2-3.
