The Albuquerque Isotopes picked up a win at Dell Diamond, knocking off the Round Rock Express, 4-3. Starting pitcher Quentin Hammond was a big reason why. The winner was Hammond. He threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Mike Miller. Dave Francisco got credit for the save for Albuquerque. It was his 1st of the year.

In the top of the fourth inning of a 2-2 tie, Albuquerque third baseman Bob Perkins reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Albuquerque on top, 3-2.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Perkins, "one at-bat at a time."

Round Rock drops to 0-2.
