Not everyone stuck through the 86-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Altoona Curve defeated the Akron RubberDucks, 8-7, in part because of right fielder Jorge Pueblo. Pueblo was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Curve. The Curve improved their record to 21-33 by beating Akron.

In the bottom of the fifth, Altoona designated hitter Juan Palmeiro had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Palmeiro stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 8-7, Altoona. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Pueblo, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
