Thanks in large part to designated hitter Yairo Munoz, the Reading Fightin Phils beat the Erie SeaWolves, 7-3. Munoz went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Earning his 1st save for Reading was Giel Adriaens. With this game in the books, Reading is 24-26, Erie 32-19.
Had Juan Ortíz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Ortíz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Fightin Phils.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Ortíz after the game.
