Mets Get Dramatic 9-6 Triumph
The Binghamton Mets had to overcome a big game from Akron left fielder Juan Hernández to leave NYSEG Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 9-6. Hernández was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Luis Salazar, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Binghamton is now 17-32, while Akron is 21-27.

The decisive blow was delivered by Shawn Deason in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Jordan to win the game for Binghamton. The home crowd went nuts.

"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Deason.
