Cincinnati Reds starter Chris Kohler pitched his team past the San Diego Padres, 3-1, in 11 innings. Jose R. Lopez, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Reds improved their record to 68-77 by beating San Diego.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Jake Bauers to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Reds on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I like what I saw today," said Cincinnati manager Julio Vinas, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
