New Hampshire Slaps 5-4 Loss on New Britain
New Hampshire registered a win at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium by beating the New Britain Rock Cats, 5-4. Pitcher Steve Reid was one reason why the Fisher Cats triumphed. Reid, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. Earning his 14th save of the year was Greg Thomas.

New Hampshire took a 5-4 lead on Steve Johnson's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Johnson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Britain pitcher Bob Walters visibly frustrated.

New Hampshire manager Mark Budzinski commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
