Bowie designated hitter Elwiin Gelderblom helped his team beat the Erie SeaWolves, 5-4. Gelderblom, who is tied for 8th in the EL in doubles with 12, went 2 for 4 for the Baysox. P.J. Jackson, now 4-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the win over Erie, the Baysox improved to 16-27.

Bowie used the timely hitting of Rob Robinson to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Baysox on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a test of wills," said Jack McDowell, the Bowie skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
