Fightin Phils Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Curve, 2-0
|
The Reading Fightin Phils picked up a win at FirstEnergy Stadium, knocking off the Altoona Curve, 2-0. Starting pitcher Ron Brooks was a big reason why. Reading is now 16-23. Altoona is 13-26.
Reading got a knockout punch from Edwin Little. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Ron was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Reading manager Shaun Larkin.
